Trips Saddlebag

Our saddlebag trips are what our original business plan was based on. What better way to see the beauty of Quebec in the Winter than by traveling on a snowmobile! The saddle bag trips are 6 ½ days of riding. We check into our start point lodge/motel Saturday night and arrive back mid-day the following Saturday.People ask,” how many miles will we ride per day”? That varies on each trip because of the difference in terrain throughout Quebec. Our trips are based on a 9 hour day that includes a lunch break. Some of the areas in eastern Quebec 9 hours may be 150 miles. In the flatter areas in western Quebec a 9 hour day will be 250 miles. Years of experience on these trails have taught us this. The only way to truly get the most out of a trip is to have experienced the trails the way we have.We want people to fully understand the trip before undertaking one. Our day starts with a 7:00 AM breakfast. We plan to pack up our rooms, load up our sleds and be on the trails between 8:15 and 8:30. We plan a fuel and lunch break between 12:00 and 1:00. We try to have a sit down lunch but sometimes it may just be a quick sandwich in a gas station. Our plan is to always reach our destination before dark. For emergency purposes we plan to be near a town with a snowmobile dealer every couple days. They can be difficult to get to and time consuming so we don’t plan on taking the time just to get oil. Please carry enough oil for your trip. Your 2 stroke sled will average 1.5 quarts of oil per day. The first day on a trip usually is a slow starter with possible issues so it is typically planned as a short one.One thing to keep in mind is these rides should be looked at as a marathon not a sprint. By the end of the week, these rides will wear on you!These trips range from 1000 to 1500 miles in a week. Your sled and equipment must be in good condition and well maintained before going on one of these trips. Newer sleds are required. If one machine breaks down, we are all down.
